Platform
Transparency
Open Government. Clear Communication. Accountable Representation.

Transparency must be a core value of ASUN — and accessible.

In my next term, I will:
  • Pass legislation requiring the publication of ASUN campaign finance reports to ensure ethical and accountable elections.
  • Expand the Senate Outreach reporting system by modernizing how reports are displayed online so students can easily track Senator activity.
  • Further develop the ASUN Canvas hub into a centralized communication platform for events, constituent services, and student resources.
  • Standardize meeting accessibility practices to ensure compliance with open-meeting principles and improve remote participation access.
  • Create clearer public summaries of major Senate actions so students can quickly understand what legislation does and how it impacts them.
Students should never have to wonder what their representatives are doing — transparency should be built into the system itself.

Advocacy
Turning students' voices into action.

Advocacy means proactive leadership: walk the walk, not talk the talk.

In my next term, I will:
  • Continue defending vulnerable student populations, including undocumented students and student veterans, through formal resolutions and direct administrative engagement.
  • Expand the use of joint resolutions with Faculty Senate and other governing bodies to strengthen institutional advocacy.
  • Push for formalized consultation processes when major academic or technological initiatives (like PACK AI) are introduced.
  • Advocate for expanded mental health programming, including specialty group services.
  • Protect student access to democratic participation at both the university and state level.
When decisions are made that affect students — whether about tuition, curriculum, or access to services — student voices must be present and organized.

Building Bridges Across Nevada
Connecting Campus and Community Across Nevada.

ASUN should be a partner in our community, not just a student board.

In my next term, I will:
  • Finalize and formalize food partnership agreements with regional nonprofits to supplement Pack Provisions.
  • Expand Pack in Action into a recurring and institutionally supported campus tradition.
  • Build ongoing relationships with city, county, and nonprofit leaders to create internship, volunteer, and service-learning pipelines for students.
  • Explore partnerships that address housing insecurity, transportation access, and food access at a regional level.
Northern Nevada and UNR grow stronger together.

Civic Engagement
Empowering Students to Participate, Serve, and Lead.

Civic engagement should be embedded into campus life.

In my next term, I will:
  • Pass the Binding Resolution to Reform and Clarify the Duties of the Committee on Democratic Civic Engagement to permanently codify this session’s initiatives.
  • Establish a formal liaison relationship with the Washoe County Registrar of Voters to increase voter education and turnout.
  • Implement the Non-Binding Voter Engagement & Demographics Survey on the ASUN ballot to better understand student needs and outreach gaps.
  • Expand Constitution Day, Veterans Day of Gratitude, and civic programming partnerships.
  • Increase structured collaboration between ASUN and the Department of Government Affairs to better connect students to state and federal policy processes.
An engaged campus produces informed graduates prepared for leadership beyond UNR.

Reform
An accountable, efficient, and ethical Association

Reform is about building lasting institutional strength.

In my next term, I will:
  • Pass the overhaul of Senate outreach requirements, including tiered engagement and increased college-specific outreach expectations.
  • Complete the audit and modernization of Senate Rules and contribute to a streamlined revision of the Statutes of the Associated Students.
  • Pass legislation clarifying and balancing the duties of Senate leadership roles to prevent burnout and strengthen continuity.
  • Strengthen ethical standards and accountability expectations for elected officials.
  • Continue improving internal training for Senators on legislative drafting, procedure, and effective governance.
ASUN should operate efficiently, ethically, and with a culture rooted in service — not self-interest.
